Problems Thinking of a Valentine Gift

Who doesn’t have problems thinking of something to give for Valentine’s Day? The Valentine market is saturated with things to buy, but not so many ways to share LOVE by acts!

I grew up with creative parents. My mother and father both showed their love throughout my sister’s and my childhood; well into our twenties.

My mother would create things and so would my father. They both had God-given talents for creativeness. Hardly ever did they run out of ideas.

Shop DaySpring for Valentines Day Gifts As I sit here on the computer, something that takes way too much of my time, one good Valentine’s present I can think of off the top of my head would be to stay off the computer on Valentine’s Day. That would start things off well.

Then, another good suggestion would be to help wife by keeping or cleaning the house. But to make it all that more special, instead of doing the things I do on a normal day, like washing the dishes and putting my clothes away, I can do her jobs she normally does.

Just remember this. If you want to make the person you love feel special, then do something special for that person whether it a monetary gift or handmade. Be special for that special someone! Go the extra mile!

Now, I think that is a good Valentine Idea! What do you think?

Create a Personalized Bag

By Kyle Yates

This is an especially good idea for women, but men may enjoy this as well. And keep in mind, this is a simple way, not the most elaborate way to paint. You can buy more expensive materials if you like, along with a proper palette to pour your paint onto.

The item you will create is a personalized bag, one you can give to someone you love. The person receiving this gift will be the only person in the world with that particular bag even if you create two or more of the same design since it will be created all by hand. It will be a one-of-a-kind bag and a very special gift for years to come.

So let’s begin…

First, go to your favorite shop where you can find simple plain single-colored bags and buy one, or more if you plan to make many of these. Then go to a DIY store like a home center or craft center where you will buy acrylic paints and art supplies.

Now, while you are at the DIY shop, you should preferably buy an acrylic paint set; one with many different colors. But to save money, you can choose a few colors if you already know what you wish to paint and the colors you wish to use.

There are special acrylic paints that have been created these days made specifically for clothing materials. If you can, find this kind of paint at the DIY store these particular paints are better because they last longer and can be washed without fading or getting washed off.

Now, before you get started, you will want to think of something to paint. And to make sure you don’t mess up the bag, you should find a scrap piece of paper, one you can draw your design on first before you begin drawing it on the bag.

You can also print out something you like on a piece of paper, artwork you find on the Internet or clipart you like.

Use your printout or drawing and cut it out into pieces that can be laid on the bag and traced. Now, lightly trace the outer edges or lightly sketch your art on the bag.

Once you have drawn the image you wish to paint on the bag, you can begin drawing it lightly on the bag. Take the bag, lay it flat on a table and begin sketching it lightly on the bag.

After you have sketched your image, now you can begin painting it.

Lay a piece of newspaper on the table and then place the bag flat on it. The newspaper is necessary to keep paint from being spilled or splattered on the table. You may also want to put on an old shirt and pants and/or an apron to cover yourself so you don’t splatter yourself and ruin your clothes, too.

Next, choose the colors you wish to use. Squirt a small amount in a paper plate or flat piece of Saran wrap.

Now, paint your art on the bag!

After you have finished painting it, let it sit and dry. To speed up the process, you can get a blow dryer/hair dryer (handheld) and blow dry the paint. Make sure you hold the dryer far enough away from the shirt so it doesn’t burn or spread the paint and mess up your artwork.

Once you are done, wrap it and give it to your loved one. My wife loved the one our kids made her.
